PHOTOS: Syrian Army commemorates full liberation of Homs city by holding huge military parade

On Tuesday, two military parades were held by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in Syria’s third largest city Homs, one of the first cities to rise up against government forces back in 2011.

One parade was held in the northwestern Al-Waer suburb which had its last rebel militants evacuated last week. Footage and pictures of the event can be found below:

In addition, a second parade took place the same day in downtown Homs after Russian experts finished training a new batch of SAA engineers at the Demining Training Facility.

All 36 neighborhoods of Homs city are now under government control for the first time since early 2011. With Aleppo also liberated, this has freed up over 50,000 troops for frontlines elsewhere, thus explaining how the SAA has advanced on virtually all frontiers in recent weeks.
