Photos- Syrian Army secures water supplies in East Aleppo

Photos have been recently released on social media showing the recently-recaptured water pumping stations in East Aleppo.

The pictures display the government facilities almost intact, years after being under ISIS control. However, the terror group has planted scores of IEDs outside and inside the stations before its militants were forced to retreat.

Fully aware of the tactic, the Syrian Army’s engineering units dismantled the IEDs before storming the facilities.

The liberation of the two water pumping stations – one for drinking water while the other for irrigation purposes – will release the civilians of Aleppo from years-long of humanitarian crisis after ISIS cut off water supplies feeding the northern Syrian city.

Yesterday, the Syrian military finally managed to re-take the water pumping stations of Al-Khafseh in East Aleppo countryside following fierce battles with the Islamic State.
