PM Haniyeh calls for continuation of popular activities in support of prisoners

images_News_2013_03_03_haneya-at-prisoner-support-event_300_0Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh, has called on the Palestinian people to “declare a third intifada against Israeli occupation until the release of prisoners from Israeli jails.”

This came during the opening ceremony of an exhibition organized by the Association of Detainees and Ex-detainees on Sunday morning, in the presence of Palestinian ministers, MPs, faction leaders and liberated prisoners, in addition to the Tunisian delegation which is visiting the Strip.

The exhibition included photos of prisoners that have been taken from inside the Israeli jails, and said that they are displayed for the first time.

Ismail Haniyeh said that the battle of the empty stomachs waged by the prisoners does not aim to draw attention. It is a real battle they wage to get their freedom, Gaza’s Premier stressed.

He emphasized on his government commitment to its responsibilities towards the prisoners’ issue and said: “We are ready to pay any price for their release.” He also called for the formation of a Palestinian national strategy to protect the constants and the resistance and liberate the detainees.
