Jurisprudent calls scholars to boost Shia Sunni ties

Grand Shia jurisprudent underscored importance of Shia Sunni unity and demanded scholars to spare no effort for the cause.

Ayatollah Hussein Noori Hamedani, top Iranian jurisprudent and professor at Qom Seminary met with a group of Muslim scholars to stress the necessity of Muslim unity and a proper understanding of ones times, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He referred to the constant effort of the enemies to wage disagreement between Shia and Sunni and stressed the role of Muslim scholars to achieve the end.

Senior professor at Qom Seminary urged scholars to hold interfaith dialogues with Sunni communities and warned against any physical contact since that makes the ground for enemies to fuel disagreements between Islamic denominations.

“Contrary to military and soft war at present, the duty of Muslim scholars is to guide and support the oppressed.” he said.

This Shia jurisprudent also warned against the plots of the enemies calling for more researches and creating an original culture for introducing Islamic Revolution.

According to the cleric it is very important that people know their times and move in line with knowing one’s time.

He stressed the necessity of higher education because uneducated people cannot properly affect their society.
