Popular Uprising against Al-Nusra Reported in Idlib amid Syrian Army’s Rapid Advances

Tens of civilians in several villages in Southeastern Idlib protested against the Al-Nusra Front (Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at or the Levant Liberation Board) and drove them out of their regions as the Syrian Army troops have been rapidly advancing against terrorists, field sources confirmed on Monday.

The sources reported that tens of people in the villages and towns of Ramleh, Abu Alij, Jubb al-Qasab, Maksar Tahtani, Maksar Foqani and Kheiriyeh in Southeastern Idlib hoisted Syrian flags and forced the Al-Nusra terrorists out of their regions.

The sources also reported that heavy fighting has erupted between the civilians and Al-Nusra terrorists in Asqat region in the town of Saqlin in Northern Idlib.

Relevant reports said on Sunday that the army troops continued attacking the positions of the Al-Nusra Front in Eastern Idlib and managed to capture more regions within the framework of an operation to lift the siege on the towns of Fua’a and Kafraya.

The army men stormed Al-Nusra positions in Eastern Idlib and freed the village of Kafraya West of railway or in the Western countryside of the newly-liberated town of Sinjar.

Field sources said that the army men have seized control over the village of Ajaz North of Kafraya, adding that the army units are advancing in the region to lift terrorists’ siege on the towns of Fua’a and Kafraya in the Northeastern countryside of Idlib city.

The sources said that the army is battling terrorists in two fronts in Idlib, adding that in the first front the army has captured Kafraya and in the second front the army men are fighting terrorists in Southern Aleppo.
