Power company estimates its losses from Gaza war at more than $13 million

The power company in Gaza said its direct and indirect losses during the recent Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip amounted to about 13.2 million dollars.

The company explained in a press release on Wednesday that the recent war in Gaza inflicted widespread damage on various parts of the high and low pressure distribution networks throughout the Strip.

Large sections of the main feeder lines in border areas and the outskirts of residential areas as well as the main building of the power company stores also sustained damage, according to its statement.

The ad hoc committee that was formed to assess the losses reported that the power sector suffered material damage of about 5.5 million dollars, while the other 7.7 million dollars were the indirect losses that hit the service sector as a result of the power outages.

The company asserted it is making tireless efforts to get the distribution networks back to their normal activity.
