Pres. Rouhani: We need to stay together in countering US, Zionist Regime’s plots

Iran President described martyrs Rajai and Bahonar the best role models for officials and stated that today is not the day of blaming, competition and revenge and we are in the battlefield, adding: “Today is the day of national test for us and the war we are in is economic and propaganda war and the government is at the forefront of this war”.

Speaking on Saturday at Shahid Rajai National Festival, President Hassan Rouhani said: “It is the day of a big national test; nobody should think that they can gain popularity by speaking against the government. The people respect those who are brave not those who abandon the government during the battle”.

He also said: “History tells us that the victory of great nations is the result of their steadfastness in hard times,” adding that during the Revolution and Holy Defence, great victories came after hard days.

“Martyrs Rajai and Bahonar are the best role models for officials,” continued Rouhani, adding: “The people of Iran have not surrendered to toughest conditions”.

He continued: “A new group have come to the White House, who are in conflict with not only the Islamic Republic of Iran, but also with their old, traditional friends and countries with which they have high economic relations”.

The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran also went on to say: “White House rulers hatch plots against Iranian nation’s lives and on the other hand, they are always sending intermediaries for negotiation”.

He also said: “During the [Iran-Iraq] war, the Army and Revolutionary Guards had some disagreements but they supported each other during operations”.

“If the enemies had not drawn their swords against the people and the country, I would have spoken differently in the parliament,” continued the President referring to his recent appearance in the Majlis.

He also said: “The Supreme Leader said that in hard times, nobody is allowed to abandon the government, and this is what compassion and being revolutionary takes”.

Stating that “the government cannot counter US plots from one side and the right and the left inside from the other,” Dr Rouhani continued: “I am completely aware of the hardships of those who get fixed salaries; the entire government must mobilise to improve people’s lives”.

He also said that “E-government creates transparency,” adding: “If the government becomes fully electronic, a great part of economic problems will be solved too”.

He also said: “By the end of this government, the average age of managers must decrease by 8 years and 30 per cent of management positions must be handed over to women”.

“In the past 1 year, 174 women have been appointed in management positions around the country,” continued the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
