President Ahmadinejad Unveils Iran-Made Electron Accelerator

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad unveiled a home-made industrial electron accelerator in a ceremony here in Tehran on Tuesday.

The accelerator has been designed and developed by Iranian experts and enables the country to make use of a wider range of radiations. The machine is used for various medical and industrial purposes.

The accelerator was unveiled by President Ahmadinejad through video conferencing and during a ceremony thrown to mark the ‘National Day of the Nuclear Technology’.

In April 2006, President Ahmadinejad announced that Iran had succeeded in completing the nuclear fuel production cycle at laboratory scale, which made Iran one of the world’s 9 established nuclear states. Following the event, April 9 was named as the day of nuclear technology.
