President al-Assad Visits Wounded Army Personnel at Tishreen Military Hospital

President Bashar al-Assad on Monday visited a number of wounded army and armed forces personnel at Tishreen Military Hospital who were injured in the line of duty.

President al-Assad checked in on the personnel, listened to their stories about how they were inured, and inquired supervising doctors about the injured men’s health conditions, wishing them a speedy recovery.
President al-Assad congratulated the wounded men on occasion of Army Day and Ramadan, lauding the sacrifices of the army and armed forces which constitute the basis of Syria’s security and stability, saying that they are appreciated by all the Syrian people and show the noble values of the military establishment that sacrificed much to preserve the country.
In turn, the wounded army personnel affirmed that their wounds are medals of honor and that they are prepared to sacrifice all that is precious for the sake of the country and its dignity and pride.

Mohammad Haj Ali, hit by a bullet in the head that blinded one of his eyes said in a statement to SANA that President al-Assad’s visit and his assurance on the wounded and victims made him forget his wounds, adding “I have a big desire to return to my military post to tell the enemies of the nation that we love Syria and stand against acts of killing and sabotage.”

The wounded soldier Elias Mohammad Sadeq appreciated President al-Assad’s visit to assure their conditions, saying “the conspiracy will end through the awareness of our people and the determination of the Syrian Arab Army.”

Wasim Mohammad Jabal said President al-Assad’s visit was a balsam for their injuries, saying “we are determined to return to our army units and defend our lands and people.”

Abdul-Kafi Hamada, who was hit by a bullet in the neck that led to a quadriplegia, had no ability to shake hands, apologizing through a smile, but he said that President’s al-Assad’s visit has raised his morale, particularly after President al-Assad had assured him that he will recover and return to his normal life.
