President Assad: Political Solution Requires Halting Int’l Support to Terrorists

Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad sent a letter on Wednesday to the leaders of the BRICS countries, ahead of their summit in South Africa, in which he called upon them to “contribute in stabilizing the world during this period”.

Assad stressed that “The BRICS group has formed hope for the oppressed people who suffer blatant foreign intervention in their affairs and against the peoples’ benefits.”

Syria Suffering Terrorism Supported from Arab, Region and West

The Syrian president added that “Syria has been suffering since two years from terrorism supported by Arab, regional, and western states that are killing civilians and destroying infrastructure, civilizational and cultural heritage, coexistence, as well as equality in the country.”

Political Solution Requires International Will to Halt Financial, Military Support to Terrorists

Assad further requested the leaders “to join efforts to instantly put an end to violence in Syria and ensure the success of a political solution which requires an international will to halt financial and military support to terrorists.”

“With the great political, economic, and cultural weight you have, which seeks to spread peace, security, and justice in the troubled world, you are invited to exert all efforts to lift the suffering of the Syrian people, which resulted from the oppressive and illegitimate economic sanctions…” Assad emphasized.

In conclusion, as he expressed the “Syrian people’s aspiration to cooperate with the BRICS countries, considering they form a just power which seeks to spread peace, security, and cooperation among states, away from hegemony and its dictations and oppressions that have lasted for decades among our peoples and nation.”
