President Rouhani due at annual World Economic Forum meeting

President Hassan Rouhani is scheduled to take part in the 44th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in the Swiss city of Davos, a senior presidential advisor says.

According to Press TV, Mohammad Reza Sadeq on Tuesday said that President Rouhani will set off for Davos on Wednesday to attend the WEF, which is the biggest and most important global annual economic meeting.

He added that the Iranian president will attend the meeting as a special guest and hold meetings with leaders and senior officials of participating countries.

The Iranian chief executive will also attend interviews with international news networks and media, Sadeq noted.

The visit will be Rouhani’s first European trip since taking office in August 2013.

The World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2014 will be held from January 22 to 25, with the theme of “The Reshaping of the World: Consequences for Society, Politics and Business.”
