Pro-Palestinian activists set to hold “Global March to al-Quds”

Pro-Palestinian activists across the world are set to hold demonstrations to call for the liberation of al-Quds (Jerusalem) and all Palestinian territories.
The peaceful anti-Israeli demonstrations called “The Global March to al-Quds,” are expected to take place in the West Bank, Gaza Strip, US, UK, Canada, Germany, Turkey, Yemen, Indonesia and many other countries on Friday.

“The Global March to al-Quds” is held every year to mark the anniversary of the occupation of East al-Quds by Israeli forces during the 1967 Six-Day War.

The demonstrators will also protest against the expansion of illegal Israeli settlements on the occupied Palestinian lands and Tel Aviv’s apartheid policies against Palestinians.

Last year, hundreds of people were injured after Israeli forces attacked participants in “The Global March to al-Quds” in the West Bank and Gaza.

Israel has occupied the West Bank and East al-Quds, where the holy al-Aqsa Mosque is located, in 1967. Tel Aviv annexed East al-Quds in 1981 in a move not recognized by the international community.

Palestinians want East al-Quds as capital of their future state.
