Protests in Ramallah against Kerry’s visit to the region

PA Security Forces suppressed on Friday a demonstration organized by the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) in protest against US Secretary of State John Kerry’s visit to the region.

DFLP demonstrators took to the streets of Ramallah and marched towards PA headquarters in the city. However, PA forces prevented them from reaching their destination, PIC reporter said.

The demonstrators called on PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas to end the ongoing negotiation with the Israelis and to confront the escalation of Israeli settlement construction.

The demonstration came in protest against Kerry’s attempts to impose a framework agreement on the Palestinian people at the expense of their legitimate rights and constants, a DFLP spokesman said during the protest.
