‘Quds Day epitomizes fight for freedom’

Iran’s Majlis (parliament) Speaker Ali Larijani hails the International Quds Day as the true manifestation of freedom for all the independence-seeking nations of the world.

“The Palestinian cause, which has for long been looked upon by the Muslim nations (Ummah) across the world, will ultimately prevail until the liberation of al-Quds from the clutches of the Zionist [regime of Israel’s] usurpers”, Larijani noted on Thursday, IRNA reported.

The late founder of the Islamic Revolution of Iran and The Leader Of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Sayyed Rohollah Imam Khomeini, named the last Friday of the fasting month of Ramadan as the Quds Day, calling for worldwide rallies in support of Palestinians.

Millions of people are estimated to take part in the marches on the occasion, which falls on August 26 this year.

The occasion auspiciously coincided with a magnificent wave of Islamic Awakening across the Islamic countries, he also said.

“Egypt, once a safe haven for Zionist [regime of Israel’s] leaders has now been turned into the scene where Muslims of all walks of life express their resentment for the policies of the occupying regime in Tel Aviv,” Majlis Speaker added.

The demonstrations are also expected to be used to voice outrage at the dictatorial regimes worldwide.

The Majlis speaker added, “The Quds Day, no longer merely belongs to the Palestinian nation or their supporters, but given the wave of Islamic revolutions throughout the North African region, it not only resonates with various other freedom-seeking Muslim uprisings, but also symbolizes a united Islamic front against the bullying antics of Western hegemonic powers that back the Zionist [regime of Israel’s] project.”
