Zionist Israeli regime forces have killed a Palestinian whom they allege had carried out a shooting attack in Tel Aviv on January 1.

Local media said on Friday that Nashat Melhem, who was accused of killing three people in the shooting, with unclear motive, was shot dead at a mosque.

Israeli military forces also injured four Palestinians in the occupied West Bank as tensions continue with no end in sight between Israeli forces and Palestinian protesters in the occupied territories.

Three of the Palestinians were wounded by gunfire in northern and eastern parts of the West Bank, and a fourth suffered breathing complications after inhaling tear gas fired by Israeli forces north of the city of Bethlehem.

On Thursday, Israeli forces fatally shot four other Palestinians whom Tel Aviv claimed had carried out two separate stabbing attacks in the West Bank. No Israelis were injured in either of the alleged stabbing attacks.

In August 2015, the Tel Aviv regime imposed restrictions on the entry of Palestinian worshipers into the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in East al-Quds (Jerusalem). The move drew the resentment of Palestinians, triggering the recent wave of tensions.

Since October the same year, nearly 150 Palestinians, including children and women, have been killed in the clashes with Israelis.

On January 6, Ismail Haniyeh, the leader of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, said Palestinians will not relent in their determination to carry on with protests against the Israeli regime.

“Sacrifices of the Palestinians and their heroic resistance in the face of Israel will eventually come to fruition,” Haniyeh stated.
