Boroujerdi Meets Assad: Syria’s Victory to Redraw Map of Entire Region

Syrian President al-Assad received Thursday Chairman of the Iranian Shura Council’s Committee for Foreign Policy and National Security Alaeddin Boroujerdi who hailed Damascus determination to defend homeland against Takfiri terrorism.

Boroujerdi hailed the Syrian army’s achievements regarding combating terrorism, SANA news agency reported.

“Victory of Syria will redraw the map of the entire region,” the Iranian official said, as he praised the Syrians for their steadfastness.

President al-Assad and Boroujerdi exchanged viewpoints on regional and international developments and their impact on the situation in Syria, SANA reported.

They slammed as irrational policies adopted by some states in the region, noting that such policies had contributed to the spread of terrorism and destabilized more countries.

For his part, President al-Assad hailed sacrifices of the Syrian people stood in the face of these policies and defended their country.

Meanwhile, Boroujerdi also met with Syrian foreign minister Walid al-Muallem who also affirmed the steadfastness of the Syrian people and leadership against terrorism.
