Regional countries should send forces to Palestine: Iranian Majlis speaker

Iranian Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani has said that regional countries should send their forces to Palestine to help counter Israel’s attacks against the Gaza Strip.
Larijani made the remarks in a speech during an open session of the Majlis on Sunday in reference to the recent Israel’s military operation against the Gaza Strip.

“Regional countries should send their forces, weapons, and equipment to the Palestinian people so that they will be used for confrontation with the Zionist regime instead of being used to cause attrition and confrontation between two Muslim groups in Syria,” he said.

He also said, “U.S. President Barack Obama fulfilled its shameful election pledge (to support) the Zionist regime through expressing satisfaction with the attacks, and after getting the go-ahead from the West, the Zionist regime presumptuously organized a savage attack and openly announced that it would mount an operation due to the Palestinian resistance’s military capability.”

“If this logic is credible on the international stage, so all countries have the right to invade the Zionist regime because they possess lots of weapons, including weapons of mass destruction,” he added.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Larijani thanked revolutionary countries in the region, such as Egypt and Tunisia, for adopting an appropriate political stance on the issue and expressed regret over the inaction and indifference of certain Muslim Arab countries.

In addition, the Majlis speaker expressed hope that the patient Palestinian nation would inflict another defeat on the Zionist regime.
