Religious party vows not to back Nato supplies restoration

Pakistan major religious party chief has reiterated that his party would not support the decision of restoration of Nato supply at any cost, a media report said on Thursday.

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief, Maulana Fazlur Rahman, said his party would go against the decision if Nato supply line is reopened.

“We will oppose it at every forum,” said Fazl while addressing a press conference.

To a question, Maulana said that JUI-F has adopted same stance in the Parliament and also in the in-camera session and other forums regarding Nato supply line.

JUI-F has also given its proposals during the in-camera session on this issue, he added.

To a question about linking drone attacks with Nato supply, he said it was wrong to set condition of reopening Nato supply line with stoppage of drone attacks.

“We are hopeful this government would not repeat its old mistake by opening the Nato supply line,” he added.

To a question about head money for Hafiz Saeed, he termed it as absurd move, saying that US had once announced head money for Mulla Umar too.
