Report says Takfiri terrorists ruined Bahsa in northern Syria

Takfiri militants have left behind a deadly trail of devastation in Syria’s Bahsa, a village used to be under their control before being driven out by the Syrian army.

The village, located in the al-Suqaylabiyah district of the northwestern province of Hama, was under the control of the al-Qaeda-linked al-Nusra Front until October 9, when the Syrian army, backed by airstrikes carried out by the Russian Air Force, managed to liberate the area.

Advancing Syrian troops in Bahsa have found the bodies of dozens of people, many of them with their hands tied and apparently killed execution style, RT reported.

“A few months ago when they arrived in the dead of night, we ran to the neighboring village with just the clothes we were wearing. But many didn’t make it,” recounted a villager who had survived atrocities by the terrorists in the village.

“When the terrorists came, they butchered the villagers indiscriminately,” another villager said, adding that the terrorists acted like “animals.”

“They didn’t need any reason” for killing people, the villager said.

Russian airstrikes

During the operation that led to the liberation of Bahsa, more than 100 terrorists were killed and seven vehicles equipped with heavy machine guns and medium-caliber long-barreled guns were destroyed.

Moscow’s air campaign that kicked off on September 30 at the request of the Syrian government has mainly targeted Hama along with parts of the neighboring provinces of Latakia and Idlib.

The airstrikes aim to stop the advance of an alliance of militants, including al-Nusra terrorists, that controls Idlib and has tried to push into Hama and Latakia.

To date, more than 250,000 people have been killed in the turmoil that has gripped Syria since March 2011.
