Resistance economy, long-term strategy for Iran: Leader of Islamic Ummah And Oppressed

Leader of the Islamic Ummah Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says resistance economy is a dynamic and long-term strategy that can help Iran realize its economic objectives.

“Resistance economy is not just for the present circumstances; rather it is a long-term solution for the country’s economy and for achieving the lofty economic goals of the Islamic establishment,” Ayatollah Khamenei told a group of economic officials and activists on Tuesday.

The Leader said these policies can be completed and adapted to different conditions and ‘they make the country’s economy more flexible and prevent economic vulnerability.’

Resistance economy is not exclusive to Iran and in the global economic crisis of recent years, many countries are after fortifying their economy, Ayatollah Khamenei added.

“Of course, our need for resistance economy is more than other countries, because on the one hand, our country is connected to the global economy and is determined to continue this relationship and [therefore it is] naturally affected by global economic trends. On the other hand, the Islamic establishment, due to its independence-seeking…[nature] and its insistence on not being influenced by the policies of the world powers, is under attack and the subject of ill intention and sabotage,” the Leader added.

Ayatollah Khamenei stated that based on these logical reasons, ‘We must fortify the foundations of Iran’s economy’ and not allow ill intentions and different incidents to affect the economy.

“Social justice is one of the most important [macroeconomic] factors…because the Islamic establishment does not accept economic prosperity without social justice and with any economic progress in the country the conditions of the less fortunate… [members of society] must be improved,” the Leader added.

Ayatollah Khamenei said in the resistance economy, domestic capacities such as scientific, human, natural, financial and geographical must be utilized to implement policies.

“Resistance economy is not a temporary policy, rather it is a strategic solution that is beneficial, helpful and progressive for all eras – with or without sanctions,” the Leader said.
