Resistance economy way to counter US sanctions: Senior cleric

Hojatoleslam Kazem Seddiqi on Friday pointed to the US new sanctions and noted that the embargos violate both the spirit and letter of Iran nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action(JCPOA), reached between Tehran and G5+1(US, UK, France, Russia, China plus Germany).

Hojatoleslam Seddiqi referred to the US breach of the JCPOA and said: ‘If the conditions set by the Leader have had been respected during the nuclear talks, we would not have the problems we face today.’

The history of US hostilities towards Iran shows that the White House is intrinsically against religion and Islam, he added.

The US rulers will not be satisfied with us unless they take us back to the time when we used to obey them, he said, referring to the era prior to Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Hojatoleslam Seddiqi also said in order to counter Washington’s hostile measures, the Islamic Republic of Iran should follow to achieve goals set by the resistance economy and become self-sufficient.
