Resistance Key to Victory of Revolutions

Senior Iranian commander Masoud Jazayeri says nations have no way but resistance if they want to break free from the domination of arrogant powers.

Victory could be achieved through resistance even in harshest conditions, Deputy Head of Iran’s Armed Forces Joint Chiefs of Staff said on Monday.

Jazayeri described the deployment of foreign forces to Bahrain as an act of aggression and said, “History will teach the aggressors unforgettable lessons.”

The Iranian commander said Middle East revolutions have been inspired by Iran’s Islamic Revolution and are the result of the accumulation of popular demands over time.

Since the beginning of anti-government protests in Bahrain in mid-February, scores of protesters have been killed and many others have gone missing.

Bahraini security forces, backed by Saudi Arabia, are brutally cracking down on demonstrators.

According to opposition groups, over 800 anti-government activists, including 17 women, have been arrested.

Protesters, who are demanding an end to the rule of the Al Khalifa dynasty, say they will continue their street demonstrations until their demands for freedom, constitutional monarchy as well as a proportional voice in the government are met.
