“Return” Marches Continue as Gazans Mark “Friday of Raising Palestinian Flag”

Thousands of Palestinians have been flocking to “Return Camps” since the morning hours on Friday along the border between Gaza and the occupied territories.

Palestinians are protesting for their right of return for the third consecutive Friday of “The Great March of Return.” This Friday is called “Friday of Raising Palestinian Flag.”

Mass burning of Israeli flags is planned for today, with hashtags #RaisingFlag, referring to the Palestinian flag, and #BurningFlag, referring to the Israeli flag, have been prevalent in recent days on social media.

The “Great March of Return” began on March 30^th when Palestinians marked the Land Day, and will reach its peak on May 15^th, the date which US has set to open its embassy in Al-Quds (Jerusalem).

The US move follows an earlier decision by US president Donald Trump in December to recognize Al-Quds as capital of the Zionist entity.
