Any Israeli raid will be tackled

The Lebanese ambassador to Iran says Lebanon’s soil will be the burial ground for Zionist aggressors, and that Lebanon will stand up to Israeli threats with the help of its army, resistance and people.

In an exclusive interview with Iranian official news agency IRNA, Zein Mousawi said any potential Israeli incursion into Lebanon will sound the death knell for the Zionist enemy.

He underlined all Islamic and Arab nations have offered a lot of assistance to Lebanon, especially after the Israeli aggression against the nation in 2006, to help reconstruct the country.

Elsewhere in his interview, the top Lebanese diplomat described the Tehran Declaration on nuclear fuel swap a positive step toward peaceful and diplomatic settlement of Iran’s nuclear issue.

“Iran has every right to enrich uranium for peaceful ends, and Lebanon will vote against any UN resolution aimed at slapping fresh sanctions on Iran”, added Mousawi.

He lashed out at the West’s double standards vis-à-vis Tehran’s peaceful nuclear work as well as Israel’s nuclear arsenal.

“Why does the West pressurize a country which has no military nuclear ambitions, but at the same time turns a blind eye to Israel’s possession of over 200 nuclear warheads?’, asked Mousawi.

He further expressed hope that already flourishing ties between Beirut and Tehran will further expand in all areas.
