Rockets landing in Israel’s Eshkol fired from Sinai: reports

The rockets that hit the Eshkol regional council in the northwestern Negev have been fired from Sinai Desert in Egypt, reports say.

An Israeli army official said the regime launched an investigation into the possibility of rockets being fired from Egypt toward the occupied lands.

Israel suspects that the rockets that hit Eshkol late on Friday were fired from Sinai.

On Wednesday, four rockets landed in an Israeli settlement located near the Egyptian border.

Egyptian newspaper Al-Shorouk reported Friday that an Egyptian militant group in Sinai Peninsula has claimed responsibility for the launching of the rockets.

“The rockets were launched from the northern part of Sinai,” the newspaper said.

It added that the group also released a video clip showing “that the rockets were fired from 107-millimeter rocket launchers.”

The Palestinian resistance fighters have fired some 650 missiles and rockets toward Israeli cities in retaliation to Tel Aviv’s recent deadly attacks on Gaza.

The death toll from Israel’s continuous attacks on the besieged Gaza Strip climbed to 41 since Wednesday.
