Rohani stresses importance of cooperation with Africa

President-elect Hassan Rohani said on Saturday Iran welcomes expansion of relations with African states including Ethiopia and Nigeria.

According to IRNA, Rohani made the remarks in response to messages of Ethiopian President Girma Wolde-Giorgis and President of Nigeria Goodluck Jonathan felicitating his landslide victory in June 14 presidential election.
Rohani hoped constructive and cordial relations between Iran and African states would expand in all fields in future.
According to Saturday report of president-elect website, Rohani has so far stressed promotion of friendly ties with other states based on mutual respect and national interest.
Rohani won Iran’s 11th presidential election, marked by high voter turnout, by securing 18,613,329 of a total 36,704,156 ballots.
