Rule of minorities over: Ahmadinejad

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has called on all nations across the globe to join hands to create a just world system and to establish lasting peace and security.

“The time when a few rule and force other nations to obey them has come to an end,” Ahmadinejad said in a meeting with Spain’s new ambassador to Tehran on Tuesday.

The Iranian president emphasized that Tehran wants to strengthen its ties with all countries and criticized any resort to military action to settle disputes.

Ahmadinejad said sowing tensions will not resolve any problem in the world, where “economic problems have imposed heavy pressure on the people in Europe and the United States.”

“Of course, the US government usually tends to solve its problems by creating tension, war and conflict, but today, these methods have lost their efficiency,” he pointed out.

“The world today more than tensions and conflicts is in need of camaraderie and understanding and all [people] need to enjoy equal rights,” he went on to say.

Ahmadinejad insisted that his country has always wished comfort, peace and security for all nations across the world, and that the “stances adopted by the politicians of certain countries would not change the Iranian nation’s opinion toward their people.”

On Tuesday, Spain’s incoming ambassador to Tehran, Pedro Antonio Villena Perez, submitted his credentials to the Iranian president and called for an expansion of bilateral ties between Tehran and Madrid.

The Spanish envoy expressed sorrow over the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientist Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan, adding that, as a victim of years-long terrorism, Spain well understands the loss.

On January 11, an unknown motorcyclist attached a sticky bomb to Ahmadi Roshan’s car near a college building of Allameh Tabatabaei University in Tehran.

Ahmadi Roshan, the deputy director of marketing at Iran’s Natanz nuclear facility, was immediately killed and his driver, who had sustained injures, died a few hours later in hospital.
