President al-Assad: Ongoing events in region, particularly Syria, target its sovereignty

Damascus, President Bashar al-Assad stressed that what has been happening in the region, particularly in Syria, targets its sovereignty and independent decision.
President al-Assad was speaking during his meeting on Monday with the Women’s International Democratic Federation (WID) delegation currently visiting Syria, headed by Marcia Campos.
The talks dealt with the ongoing events in Syria, with President al-Assad affirming that what has been happening in the region, particularly in Syria targets its sovereignty and independent decision.
”Nonetheless, the Syrian people and the peoples of the region can get past this difficult stage as long as they have the will and determination to defend their lands and interests and restore security and stability,” President al-Assad affirmed.
The delegation members expressed the Federation’s solidarity with the Syrian people in confronting the terrorist campaign and rejection of interference in the Syrian domestic affairs.
Syria is not a homeland for Syrians only, but is a history and a highly important geographic location, the delegation members pointed out, affirming that the crisis in Syria will come to an end, and the Syrian people’s battle and sacrifices have foiled the hegemony schemes in the region.

Vice President calls for unifying efforts of popular powers and organizations to support Syria
Vice President Dr. Najah al-Ataar called for enhancing and unifying the efforts of popular powers and organizations around the world to support Syria in the face of the war to which it is exposed and lift the injustice blockade imposed on it.
Meeting the visiting, al-Ataar pointed out to the role of European countries, US and some Arab regimes , particularly Qatar and Saudi Arabia in preparing conditions for the flow of takfiris and killers into Syria and creating opposition abroad, in addition to supporting terrorists with money and weapons and broadcasting lies on their channels, the partners in shedding the Syrians’ blood..
The Vice President hailed the role of woman in defending Syria against terrorism.For her part, Chairwoman of the Women’s delegation Marcia Campos affirmed the Federation support to Syria against the war to which it is exposed, pointing out that she will convey the reality of events in Syria to the world public opinion.
“Syria will come out of its crisis victorious,” Campos said.
