Russian Orthodox Church hails interfaith dialogue with Iran

Abouzar Ebrahimi Turkman, head of the Organization of Culture and Islamic Communications met with Illarion, international deputy of Russian Orthodox Church in Russia hailing interfaith dialogues between the two countries and counted the achievements made following several meetings between the two religions, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He said,” It was following meetings between Islam and Orthodox Church that Iran’s University of Religions and Denominations launched a course on Christian Orthodox.”

He also referred to several books written or translated on Christian Orthodox ideology.

Iranian cleric noted,” Interfaith dialogues between Islam and Christianity have successfully gone beyond elementary steps reaching some important issues.”

He also counted several books translated and published in Iran in order to introduce Orthodox Church to the Persian speaking readers.

Delegation of Iranian officials made the visit concurrent with Iran cultural week marked in the two major cities, capital Moscow and Bashkortostan.
