Salah decides to visit O. Jerusalem

Sheikh Ra’ed Salah, the head of the Islamic Movement in the 1948 occupied lands, said he intends to visit the occupied holy city of Jerusalem and the Aqsa Mosque soon in defiance of the Israeli ban imposed on his entry to the holy sites.

Sheikh Salah told Al-Jazeera Net that this visit would lead to plans and new strategies to confront the violations committed by the Israeli occupation against Jerusalem and the Aqsa Mosque.

He said this visit is a step towards coordinating with the people and leaders of Jerusalem to re-examine the reality of the holy city and the Mosque and rebuild a new strategy for their support.

Head of the Islamic Movement highlighted that this strategy will be turned into the custody of the Arab leaders and thus they will be responsible for defending Jerusalem and the Aqsa Mosque.

On Sunday, the Israeli occupation authority released Sheikh Salah, after five months in the Israeli Ramle prison, near Tel Aviv. He was imprisoned on allegation of assaulting an Israeli police officer during 2007 protests in the holy city.
