Salehi receives Chinese envoy’s copy of credentials

China’s new ambassador to Iran submitted a copy of his credentials to the Caretaker of Foreign Ministry Ali Akbar Salehi on Thursday.

Salehi wished success for the Chinese envoy and described Tehran-Beijing ties as friendly.

The Islamic Republic of Iran and China are two strong countries with a special status in the world, he said.

Salehi also hoped that the new ambassador will pave the way for further strengthening of bilateral ties.

The Chinese envoy, for his part, described the Islamic Republic of Iran as a major country in the world and said that both countries have ancient civilizations and this can help promote relations.

He also put the volume of trade exchanges at $30 billion in the past year and hoped the figure would increase in the current year.
