‘Sanctions not to stop Iran progress’

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says unilateral sanctions imposed against the Islamic Republic by Western countries cannot stop the Iranian nation from moving forward.

According to Press TV, Ahmadinejad said in a meeting with the new Norwegian ambassador to Tehran, Jens-Petter Kjemprud, on Monday “The Iranian nation will never succumb to sanctions, will continue to move forward, and is ready to cooperate with all governments and nations.”
Ahmadinejad also noted that the United States government has been against the Iranian nation for more than thirty years and the US statesmen wish for the situation in Iran to go back to how it was 33 years ago, “though history never rolls back.”
The Iranian president stated that instead of clashing with nations, American politicians should cooperate with other nations to create a better world.
He added “If all governments and nations respected one another and interacted based on friendship and justice, there would be no more problems in the world.”
Ahmadinejad noted that there is no negative point in the history of Iran-Norway relations and the two countries can expand their ties in different areas.
Kjemprud, for his part, referred to the long history of relations between Iran and Norway, saying that there are vast potentials for expanding bilateral ties especially in the oil sector.
