Saudi Arabia supports chaos in Yemen: Analyst

Press TV has conducted an interview with Ali al-Ahmed, the director of the Institute for (Persian) Gulf Affairs from Washington, and Ali Masfari, a writer and academic expert from London, to discuss an airstrike in Yemen’s southern city of Aden which forced the country’s fugitive President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi to escape his palace.

Al-Ahmed says the current chaos in Yemen has the support of some regional states such as Saudi Arabia, adding that they favor another “Libyan scenario” in which no specific force or entity controls the country, a situation that would ultimately lead to sectarian war.

Meanwhile, Masfari believes that the international community should push all parties in Yemen towards finding a negotiated solution to the current turmoil in order to avoid another Libya.
