Warplanes from the Saudi-led coalition have hit Jebel al-Nabishuaib late Thursday on the southwestern outskirts of capital Sanaa in a breaching of the UN-sponsored truce.

The announced truce, for an initial period of three days, took effect just before midnight on Wednesday to allow aid deliveries in Yemen, where the Saudi-US war has killed thousands and left millions homeless and hungry.

The Saudi-led coalition had vowed to respect the UN-sponsored truce, but accused Yemeni military of violations without any evidence for that.

Local media outlets reported breaching of the truce by the Saudi-US alliance with non-stop air strikes that also targeted the northern provinces of Jawf and Saada.

Coalition spokesman Major General Ahmed Assiri denied on Thursday that any air strikes took place in Yemen, although coalition warplanes didn’t leave Yemen’s airspace.

Nearly 6,900 people have been killed, since Saudi Arabia formed an Arab coalition to invade Yemen, more than half of them civilians, while another three million are displaced and millions more need food aid.
