Saudi People Protest Desecration of Holy Quran in Political Prison

saudi-protest-against-invasion-of-bahrainA group of youths staged a demonstration in protest to the desecration of the Holy Quran in a political prison.

The rally, called “Not the Book of God” was held in the city of Qassim to condemn the defiling of the Quran by prison guards in the al-Haer Prison.

The demonstrators chanted slogans calling for those preparing the blasphemy to be brought to justice, for Saudi Arabian Interior Minister Muhammed bin Naif to be sacked and for the prisoners held in the al-Haer jail to be released.
According to reports, prison guards threw copies of the Quran to the ground and stepped on the copies.

When the inmates objected to the insulting act of the guards, security forces were sent in and the protesters were sent to solitary confinement.

It is worth mentioning that there are around 30,000 political prisoner in KSA.
