Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem hailed Lebanese parties for teaming up in electing the new president for the country stressing all political parties in the country wanted to elect a new president, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

“Sustaining the institutional processes which in turn serves the national and public interests is what all Lebanese are after,” highlighted Sheikh Naim Qassem.

The religious cleric went on to stress, “political considerations, wants and desires must not hinder reaching a roadmap for the presidential vacancy, especially when the president represents a large segment of followers in his sect.”

“Saudi meddling has prevented the Lebanese from advancing their objectives and holding presidential elections,” pointed out Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General.

“If Saudi rulers agrees on electing a new president, the Lebanese can carry out the elections tomorrow; if it rejects, the political turmoil is expected to be linger on,” Sheikh Qassem underscored.
