Saudi Arabia’s fighter jets have pounded a military airport in Yemen’s southern province of Shabwa.

According to eyewitness on Thursday, the Saudi warplanes targeted a military command center in the province as well, the Anadolu Agency reported.

There were no immediate reports of casualties in the latest Saudi act of aggression.

The air raids by Saudi Arabia came after Ansarullah fighters managed to take control of Ataq, the capital of oil-rich Shabwa, earlier in the day.

Saudi Arabia’s air campaign against Ansarullah fighters started on March 26, without a UN mandate, in a bid to restore power to the country’s fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, a staunch ally of Riyadh.

Hundreds of people have so far been killed and thousands more wounded since the beginning of the Saudi aggression. Most victims of the raids are reported to be women and children.
