Saudis are wise enough to avoid entering U.S. political game: Iran

Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi says the Saudi Arabia is wise enough to avoid entering the political game designed by the United States which is seeking to create division among regional countries.

In a recent interview with a radio station, Salehi expressed hope that the Saudis would consider all aspects of the false claim because enemies are always seeking to cause dissension among regional nations.

According to Reuters, on October 11, U.S. authorities claimed that they had broken up a plot by two men linked to Iran’s security agencies to kill the Saudi envoy, Adel al-Jubeir.

Iran has categorically denied the accusation, insisting that the recent U.S. publicity ploy is a “ludicrous” claim based on a joint U.S.-Israeli hostile posture against the Islamic Republic.

“We have no problem with Saudi Arabia, but there are some differences of opinion as to regional developments,” Salehi opined.

He said the U.S. is trying to whitewash its failures at home and abroad through fabricating such a scenario against Iran, adding that the Saudi people are well aware of the truth about the scenario.

The chief diplomat went to say that the Western media outlets clumsily staged the scenario which its falsity was completely evident.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Salehi said the U.S. policy is not based on the realities on the ground but Iran’s policy is based on dignity and wisdom which, God willing, will prove superior.

“We have dealt with such problems during the past 32 years after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, and fortunately we have gained enough experience,” he explained.

In conclusion the minister said U.S. officials are desperately trying to level such accusations against Iran but the country is regarded as a model for Islamic awakening in the world.
