Head of the Supreme Islamic Council of Iraq Sayyed Ammar Hakim condemned recent terrorist attacks on Shiite mosques in eastern Saudi Arabia, after the second such attack in two weeks killed three worshippers in the port city of Dammam.

“We deplore terrorist bombings that targeted houses of God (mosques) in Saudi Arabia’s Dammam,” Hakim said.

The top Iraqi cleric also demanded justice for the deaths and injuries.

The Friday attack happened shortly after noon outside the Imam Hussein (PBUH) mosque in Dammam, the capital of Saudi Arabia’s oil-rich Eastern Province.

The ISIL terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attack, according to a statement posted to Twitter by its supporters.

The bomber, identified as Abu Jned al Zazrawi, was dressed in traditional female clothing as a cover-up. He set off explosives outside the mosque, killing himself and three Shiite worshipers.

The attack happened a week after another suicide bombing at a Shiite mosque that killed 21 people in the same province last Friday.
