Sayyed Nasrallah vows to continue resistance

Hezbollah Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah has described Lebanese resistance as the only way the country can maintain its security and sovereignty.
In a televised speech aired on Saturday, Nasrallah said that Hezbollah would keep up its resistance against the United States and israel.

While welcoming national dialogue aimed at increasing the country’s stability, Nasrallah added that the Lebanese resistance group would never lay down its arms.

The remarks come one day after UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in a news conference in the Lebanese capital of Beirut commented on Hezbollah’s military might.

Nasrallah said he was pleased that Hezbollah’s growing military capabilities had been noticed by Ban.

Prior to his arrival in Lebanon, the UN chief gave an interview with the Lebanese newspaper An-Nahar on Friday in which he called on israel to stop violating Lebanon’s sovereignty and UN Security Council (UNSC) Resolution 1701.

Resolution 1701 states the UNSC’s strong support for the territorial integrity, sovereignty and political independence of Lebanon within its internationally recognized borders.

israel violates Lebanon’s airspace on an almost daily basis, claiming the flights serve surveillance purposes.
