President introduces new minister to Majlis

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad introduced Tuesday Hamid Sajjadi as the minister of the newly-established Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs.

In a letter read to the Iranian MPs by Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani, the President named Sajjadi as the minister of the new ministry.

Sajjadi, champion of the track and field sports with 10 medals from Asian games, has a PhD in Sports Physiology and currently teaches Physical Training courses in the Open University.

The Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs was established upon an approval by the Majlis last winter when MPs voted to merge the National Organization for Youth and the Physical Training Organization into one single ministry.
