Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan underlined the country’s Armed Forces are at the highest level of military preparedness to confront and thwart any possible threat, and said that no foreign power dares to attack Iran.

“… no enemy will be provided with an opportunity to attack Iran,” General Dehqan said, addressing a ceremony in the city of Karaj, near Tehran, on Sunday.

In relevant remarks last month, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces for Operations Brigadier General Mostafa Salami also stressed Iran’s military preparedness to give a crushing response to any possible threat to the country.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran is no threat to its neighbors but it stands against threats mightily,” Salami said.

“Today, the Armed Forces, including the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and the Army, are the most powerful armed forces in the world and we have worked out the needed plans for all possible enemy scenarios,” he added.

In July, Iranian Supreme Leader’s top adviser for international affairs Ali Akbar Velayati played down the war rhetoric of Tel Aviv against Iran, and said that in case of the slightest mistake by Israel it will receive Iran’s most crushing response.

Velayati’s remarks came in reaction to the war rhetoric of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Tel Aviv officials against Iran.

“Israel does not dare to attack Iran; as soon as the Israeli regime begin to do so, its most important cities will be leveled to the ground,” Velayati said in response to a question by reporters on Israel’s possible attack on Iran to ruin the nuclear agreement between Iran and the world powers.

The Iranian Supreme Leader’s top aides, meantime, stressed that Iran will never allow any outsider to inspect its military sites.

“I reiterate that the issues of Iran’s missiles and defensive capabilities have never been included in the nuclear talks,” Velayati said.
