Security forces uncover weapon cache in Syria’s Homs

Security forces in the central city of Homs have discovered a depot containing ammunition and shells in al-Waer district.

This occurred while engineering units were conducting a wide-scale mop-up operation covering the orchards and farms in the former rebel bastion.

The shells were used by rebel groups to hit the nearby residential areas.

In May 2017, the city of Homs was officially declared militants-free after the last batch left to the country’s north as per an evacuation deal with the Syrian government.
