In the second sermon of Tehranˈs Friday Prayers, Ayatollah Khatami referred to Supreme Leaderˈs speech in his Wednesday meeting with foreign minister and ambassadors of Iran abroad and said those important remarks will be considered as Iranˈs foreign policy doctrine.

He quoted the Supreme Leader as saying until US enmity and cruel statements of the US government and Congress continue, interaction with them (US) would be meaningless.

He underlined that the US wants to humiliate Iran and show that Iran cannot stand before the US, while the Islamic society does not tolerate humiliation.

Reminding Iranˈs experiences during recent negotiations with Group 5+1, the cleric said that the Supreme Leader has allowed negotiation with the USA just in the framework of nuclear talks.

ˈDuring the talks, the Americans have used harsh words and have insulted Iranians,ˈ said the ayatollah.

However, the cleric went on to say negotiations with Group 5+1 on the nuclear issue will continue as the Supreme Leader has said.

In another part of his speech, Ayatollah Khatami referred to current situation in Iraq and said that maintaining unity in Iraq and confrontation with terrorism are very important there.

Referring to election of the president and parliament speaker in Iraq, the ayatollah expressed hope that the cabinet would be formed as soon as possible, adding that Iran will respect Iraqi people choice.

He also expressed hope that with establishment of new government in Iraq, problems of the nation could be solved.

Khatami called for cooperation of all countries for success of the Iraqi government in fight against ISIS terrorists and underlined that part of regional security is connected with the security in Iraq.
