Iran urges world to aid Gazans

The Islamic Republic of Iran called on the world community to pay more attention to the oppressed people of the Gaza Strip and send foods and medicine for them.

Speaking to a meeting of Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) , IRI permanent representative to the organization, Javad Tavakolian described the human situation in Gaza as critical and condemned siege of the region by the Zionists forces.

He also criticized silence of the international organizations against the Zionist regime’s crimes in Gaza and called for the fast opening of all crossings for paving the way of sending humanitarian aid for the Gazans.

Manager of the FAO branches in Middle East, Central Asia and Eastern Europe, Daly Belqasemi, for his part appreciated IRI at the second meeting of the FAO executive council for its hospitality towards refugees and immigrants.

At the sidelines of the meeting he told IRIB reporter that “During my recent trip to Iran I visited refugees’ camps.”

“I should appreciate Iran for giving support to refugees,” he added.
