Senior Hamas official lauds Iran key role

A senior Hamas official dismissed rumors of weakening ties with Iran and praised the role Iran has played during the past in supporting the movement.

In an exclusive interview with IRNA in Beirut on Monday, Mushir al-Masri stressed that Hamas has always tried to maintain ties with all Islamic countries to serve the interests of the Palestinian nation. He especially hailed the efforts of such countries as Iran for supporting the movement for so many years.
Pointing to the situation in Palestine following the recent victories of the resistance movement against the Zionist regime in Gaza, he noted that the Palestinian nation was not alone in fighting the usurper regime, it was joined by a big and heroic Ummah which helped it greatly in overcoming enemies.
Stressing that the resistance movement is now imposing new formula on regional countries to work towards liberating Palestine, the Hamas official expressed confidence that recent victories will open new chapters in the region since the Islamic Ummah has well overcome the enemies.
