Senior ulema acknowledge FM’s management to conclude JCPOA

Five high-ranking religious figures in the holy city of Qom on Thursday acclaimed the management of Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif to bring the nuclear Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) to a conclusion.

Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi, Ayatollah Vahid Khorasani, Ayatollah Safi Golpaygani, Ayatollah Mousavi Ardebili, and Ayatollah Javadi Amoli in separate meetings with Zarif said his management was crucial in making the deal between Iran and the P5+1 group of world powers happen.

The foreign minister briefed the ulema about the measures taken after the agreement was reached on June 14 as well as on the latest developments in Iraq, Syria, Yemen, and Saudi Arabia.

Zarif said there is no military solution to the current crises in the region and stressed the role of religious scholars in lowering the tension.
