The Syrian government forces struck a heavy blow at the Takfiri militants in the coastal Province on Lattakia, killing and injuring a large group of them, field sources said Wednesday.

The Syrian forces killed and injured a large number of militants in the vicinity of the town of Ghamam in ‎Lattakia.

The Syrian Armed Forces on Tuesday began large-scale operations from three directions of Katf Al-Ghadder, Katf Al-Ghanimah and Al-Marshwan in Northeastern part of the coastal province of Lattakia to build a larger buffer-zone along the Al-Ghaab-Plains.

The three axes are located to the East of Salma and directly West of the Prophet Jonah Mountains (Jabal Nabi Younis).

The Syrian Army’s 103rd Brigade of the Republican Guard, backed by the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Qurdaha, the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP), and Muqawama Souri (Syrian Resistance), launched a large-scale offensive in the Kurdish Mountains (Jabal Al-Akrad) of Northeast Lattakia after taking a brief hiatus from this front in order to concentrate on the Turkmen Mountains (Jabal Al-Turkmen).

The Syrian army is primarily concentrated on the town of Katf Al-Ghadder, where al-Nusra Front and the Free Syrian Army’s “1st Coastal Brigade” are deeply entrenched after having lost this town previously.

On Sunday, the Syrian army and NDF backed by the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance forces managed to take control of a strategic hilltop in the province of Lattakia, after killing Tens of terrorists.

“The army and the resistance forces seized back Katf Hasoun hilltop in the Lattakia province,” a Syrian popular combatant said.

A large number of al-Nusra Front terrorists were killed and wounded in the army operations in Katf Hassoun region.
