Sheikh Miqdad Speaks on lessons from Islamic Awakening in Nigeria

Sheikh Miqdad Sulaiman Adetunji from Lagos spoke on lessons from Islamic Awakening. Sheikh Miqdad Is the Chief Imam of Assadiq Mosque Alagomeji Lagos, the Founder of Al-wahyul Islam Foundation. He is principal at institute of Qur’anic, Lagos.
After saluation, Sheikh Miqdad started by praising Allah for many blessings. He said the lessons from the Islamic Awakening are many and therefore he will mention only few among them is the attaining of unity. He added that Unity is a force while division is weakness and torments which turns a nation into preys of the enemies. Unity opens ways to having a strong government and makes a society to have peace and progress. However, he said unity requires things like proper plan and good organization. These will make a society or human attain his ultimate goal and needs, which in turn makes a society powerful and trustful.
He further said Imam Khomeini displayed all these qualities mentioned. He is best exemplary; a great leader who lead Iranian revolution, which is the foundation of awakening, by uniting the people who came out for procession in huge number seeking for their rights without destructions and chaos . Even the western countries, who have nothing to do with Islamic system have benefited from the ideology of Imam Khomeini as it has been observed during the recent protests in their countries seeking for their rights. This attested to Imam’s exemplary struggle.
Another benefits we can get from the Awakening is how the Ummah is putting its trust on Allah “ Allah suffices whoever puts trust to Him” ; The importance of trust has been explained Ayatullah Jawadi.
The effort of the Imam in defending the Truth made the School of Ahlulbayt to spread to some Arab countries and the West. Submitting to the truth in increasing in all part of the world as result of Imam Khomeini’s struggle.
Still on the lessons from the awakening is how the heart of the people is now submitting to the God. By the grace of Allah, the remembrance of Allah finds its ways into hearts of people.
Finally, this Islamic Movement brought with it a general Movements in the world seeking for justice exemplifying the struggle of imam Khomeini(QS). This is also found in Nigeria under the leadership of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky- a struggle which remove ignorance and awakens the people from their slumber.
In his comment, the leader of the Islamic Movement Sheikh Zakzaky said the Islamic awakening which started recently has connection with the one which happened 30 yrs ago in iran. After 1979 success of Iranian revolution, the world kufr was confused trying to find ways to contain it within Iran only, after failing to bring it down.
They took many steps like propaganda and isolation of Iran from the rest of the world; they called Iran as Shia different from the rest of Muslims using Saudi Govt. Whereas, Saudi kingdom was in good relation with shah, but they never called him Rafidi until after the revolution they called Iranians Shia.
This is one of the big mistakes they did of attacking Shia, though, Imam Khomeini didn’t talk of Shia in his revolution. Iran is a composite country with different religions and cultures. All sunni books authors are from Iran and also Sufis like Hallaj etc. They also have Jews and Christians.
However, Fighting shia make people to know what is Shia, he noted.
Another thing is terrorism. They are using terrorism to defame Islam. The US and West do the killings or trained others to do it, and blame Islam for tit. Alqaeda is nothing but enemies’ creation.
Another strategy is poverty they created among the people. Egyptians were mostly docile, just like Nigerians, but after extreme suffering, the Arab world became awakened which started in Tunisia by an unemployed youth who turned to a food vendor. His item was confiscated by police, and then the boy set himself on fire out of protest. This moved the people. Zainil Abidin had to flee as soldiers and police could not face the people due to their number. Army had to ask Zainil Abidin to flee to Saudi Arabia.
So, Egyptians protested when such a move is not expected and even turned out to be biggest. Mubarak had to go. His deputy was poisoned in the US as they claimed he is dangerous, he knew “dark secret”.
The step they are now taking is just making people to protest the more. They are now doing the work by themselves as they did in Libya; they want to do the same in Syria. They are now in Mali to fight the ‘Islamists’. They have said that islamists in Mali have started sneaking to Nigeria.
They are now awaking the Ummah by these actions. They are making people to rise up. People have already awakened and no force can suppress them. The extreme sufferings subjected on people brings awakening, which cant be stopped.
On the issue of the awakening Sheikh Zakzaky said many meetings and conferences are organizes in Iran to give the Islamic awakening a proper direction. Leading the Ummah is supposed to be by lead god-fearing scholars only. The earlier the better. All the veil puts in the people is now getting removed day by day.
