Shia Sunni dialogue, way to realize Islamic unity

Hujjat-ul-Islam Seyyed Mahdi Qureishi, representative of the Supreme Leader in Western Azerbaijan Province stressed importance of dialogue between leaders of different Islamic denominations and calling scholars as manifests of thinking, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He referred to the role of religious leaders to guide the people and said,” Once scholars from different Islamic schools of thought hold friendly talks with each other the people will follow their example.”

He added,” Meeting of Shia and Sunni elites is another way to realize Islamic unity and a strategy for institutionalization of proximity culture among people.”

Prayer leader of Urmia also referred to strategies to realize Islamic unity and counted following the teachings of Qur’an and high character of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) as two ways for towards the achievement.

He quoted verse from Qur’an on necessity of unity among Muslims and said,” According to the holy book of Islam, Qur’an is the main axis and its necessity for unifying Muslims is undeniable.”
